Physics of sports video
our task for this project was to pick a sport then calculate all the physics on a particular motion within the sport like calculating velocity, horizontal,and vertical motion,etc. and my group chose Archery.
Our sport timeline
Our sport was archery and we chose the shot/ impact of the arrow on the target for our action. We then started on planning out our video making the storyboard and script. after that was made we started to film we took multiple shots of the arrow and the target but other shots of the person and the bow together. after we finished filming we started calculations. Finding velocity,horizontal and vertical motion, and impact and force. then we edited the video making tweaks here and there. then the project started to wrap up.
Velocity
This project asked us to find out about vectors and velocity so we did. Vectors can be used to find counter acting velocities, change in velocity, and basically vectors help to understand the direction of velocity. Velocity was a bit harder to get but we already knew how to find it with v=d/t but getting times was difficult with firing an arrow so we pt it in to slowmo and found the total change in velocity was 22.8 m/s or 51mph.

Reflection
In this project our group went through lows and highs. The start of the project went great except as we started to get data one of our group members was gone for most of the time for two days and we got the data and it went well. Another member liked to goof off and go with friends to do other things and after the data was collected we recorded our voice overs. What i noticed as we were wrapping up the project was that it was kind of one person leading the whole thing instead of us all collaborating together. I learned that when this happens I need to try to do less blindly following and more working together. The project went mostly smooth and was good most of the way through. I figured out that this project helped me understand alot more about velocity and I could relate because we did archery.
